Freeway: tsi -vs- '00 prelude

So I'm on the freeway and headed to my house. Traffic is very mild and i'm cruisin at 70mph. I see a red Honda Prelude. (pretty sure it was a 2000) It had a full body kit, huge muffler, altezza tail lights. So judging by all these mods, I think it's pretty safe to say he also has the rest of the bolt-ons (i/h).

Anyway, it's obvious this guys wants to go fast because he's riding the van-in-front-of-him's ass. So I wait for the guy to get past me and I switch lanes to get behind him. The van slowed our speeds down to a steady 60mph and we're just waiting for it to switch lanes. After a short while,the van gets over and we both drop a couple gears and gun it. We start and I'm about 2 and 1/2 car lengths behind him. Through 3rd gear, I didn't budge at all, we were dead even. I shift to 4th and am starting to reel him in slowly. By the time we reach 105mph I've gained about half a car length. We keep goin and I gain about another 1/3 of a car length.

We both shut it down at about 117mph (just estimating). I brake a little and then switch lanes to pull up next to him and give him the thumbs up. As I get up next to him, he doesn't even look at me. He's got his hand locked at the 12 o'clock position on his steering wheel, as he stares straight ahead. I was like, whatever, fuck it and got off on my exit.

Even though it really wasn't much of a race and the guy was a dick afterwards, I still had a good time.

there's always a red prelude sorta how you described by the donut shop on 128th and 4th, i wonder if that was him?

I know exactly which prelude you're talking about. But the one I raced today was slightly different. I think the one on I always see on 128th has a carbon fiber hood and black rims. This one didn't have either of those. And also, I think the tail lights were different.

Very nice run of it! Too bad he was such a moron when it was all done. Nice kill though!!

well were gonna record some footage pretty soon here. i'm tryna wait till i fix my trannie, otherwise all my footage will be me from a roll.

well what could you expect from a ricer lol, but come to think about it I have a couple of blue ones running around where I live

If youngvr4 and I were to run it wouldn't be much of a race, from a roll or from a dig. My tsi is fwd with a k&n filter (that's gonna change in the near future) and, as you can see by youngvr4's mod list, his is quite a bit more extensive. As soon his syncros are fixed we'll get together and get some footage. And I'm sure we'll probably end up getting some runs in the midst of it all. I'll let him post it, since it'll be his kill...heh

Whether I win or I'm owned I like to atleast give a thumbs up. So people are just to hardcore of racers to exchange a friendly wave. :rolleyes:
