Hi people

stumbled on this forum a few weeks ago while dreaming about an affordable car that i could throw some money at so i can throw it around some corners. then, bam...my buddy sells me his 89 240 for a grand. the engine has 189k on it, runs weak, but it seems that the engine swap may be "slightly" painless. ive already learned a bunch just by casually reading up on some things. looking foward to posting many many questions on how to swap for the DET, and how to get a little more JSPEC out of my very very american nissan.
props for knowing WTF youre all talking about.

welcome to the boards! :icon16:

is it a fastback or the coupe?

its a fastback. the exterior is in rediculous condition, almost perfect. same with the interior. my buddy was anal with this car, and it payed for me. the engine is really trash tho...its just plain tired. so after i decided on an engine, and buy it, then i have to either let a shop charge me an arm and a leg for the swap....or pull some mechanical skills out of me arse.

hehe

but im pretty damn excited about this. first thing i want to do is amp up the suspension. the struts are shot right now, and i want a pretty decent setup. any suggestions? the engine can wait a few months, but this car floats all over the road. :uhoh:

suspension advice?

also....what is needed for a sr20det swap. do i need a front clip, or can i use all the existing parts that are on the car :eek7:

basically....just want a parts rundown

im trying to figure out if i can do this swap with limited knowledge and know how.

:/

for suspension, people usually go for coil overs, TEIN being the number one choice, also D2 coilovers are good to consider because i hear they're cheaper and just as good.

i hear it's good to get the clip because it comes with EVERYTHING, and better luck getting an uncut wiring harness or something. it's up to you

for the swap, go here: http://srownersclub.com/faq/
it tells you everything about the swap and the parts needed
