Sorry to ask this, but I just can't seem to find it.

What is the engine code for the 5th Gen Prelude?

I thought it was H22A, but isnt that JDM??

Im confuse. Thx for ur time and help.

And can someone tell me what year did the Prelude have the LSD (limited slip differential)??

yes, i have too much time on my hands right now. :p. and i believe the only prelude with an LSD was the 97 and up type s. i could be wrong. one of those EXTREMELY rare times i'm wrong.haha. jus playin

the ones in red are 5th gen

you'll find the engine code engraved on the front side of engine block right below the distributor.

O0o yeah so only 97 up and type S have LSD? Isnt Type S only in Japan? So if I buy any 97 and up 5th gen i will get LSD?

You can also find the engine code from the VIN #. It will be the 4th through 8th digits

Actually Del, the Type S featured ATTS with the 220hp block. The Type R (SiR) featured a helical type differential and is the only production Prelude to have had LSD. But this is all in Japan so it doesn't really matter.

Yup, I'm back. And don't sweat it, you got everything else right except that tiny bit. Knowledge on JDM parts is obscure and pretty useless anyways. :-D

DEL and ACE... I have the 88 2.0 Si she is stock and am looking to do a rebuild on the top end this summer, she is sluggish in rush hour traffic but maintains a smooth 80 MPH on these Calif. highways. Does the cold air induction make a big difference when the average ambient temp on the highway is 90+ degrees?... I am looking at putting a high flow exhaust from the header on back to the tailpipe and then pout the cold air induction on it this summer... quicker air/fuel in... exhaust out=HP

Not really. Instead of sucking in warm air from the engine, you're sucking warm air from the atmosphere. It may be a few degrees less than the environment, but that really doesn't make that big of a difference. If you are so inclined, you could still get a CAI and try to pinch a minimal amount of power more from the engine.
