a/c stopped working

i have a 1995 1500 z71, the a/c stopped working while driving. The fan motor blows air and the recycle switch and a/c switch do not light up when depressed. The vent selector nob doesn't seem to redirect air to the defrost or the upper vents, blows out the bottom ducts. It appears to me the climate control module is not working. I took the control panel out and checked for obvious loose wires on the a/c button. no luck. I also checked the relay switch under the hood to see if it was loose, it visually looks ok. Also checked the fuses, don't have the wiring diagram so i don't know if there are any inline fuses. Willing to do the work if i could get some help running down the possibilites.
thanks for any help.

Had the same problem with my 1996 GMC.
The A/C-Heat control panel has failed. This is the module that contains the switches, buttons, and knobs themselves.
Since you already had it apart, I take it you could probably replace the module yourself. Other wise it's about a $280.00 dealer job.
