paint code????????

my 94 z28 is quassar blue, needs painted. i would like to
change the color to like a metallic pepsi can blue.
has anyone seen this color? i know it was made because
it was on one of jeff gordons race cars. i plan on
painting it sometime this summer. i asked a man
at a autobody shop, he didnt know what color
the pepsi cans are. :smokin:

Well Jeff Gordon's car should be a Dupont color so I would try asking a Dupont paint dealer.

Yeah.. They started sellin' it here a while ago too.. Its not Chameleon, but its similar, its called mystify.. It comes with three seprate colors/stages..

Before I chose the color of my car, I was going to get one of the chromalusion paints.. til I found out the paint and clear alone would have been ver $2000!! its like $450 a pint!

tacoma, no, not yet, i need more parts first, i'm not gonna know what diff it makes tho, cuz the car has been garaged and the teardown to the block has begun. so with all the new parts i'm putting on i'll have no clue what diff the airbox made :(

ur paint must be really fucked up then.. i get compliments on mine all the time. not to mention mq blue is the rarest color for 94s. mine is 2-toned black and blue... the best color scheme i've seen from gm yet.

Its not metalflake, metalflake was actually a paint they used back in the 70's.. it was the forerunner to metallic paint.. like the gm mq blue.. Metalflake was an ugly paint though IMO..

Pepsi blue is a pearlecent color I think? I dont think it has metallic in it

metalflake is not a paint. its that glitter shit that u mix with paint to make it glimmer more. mq blue has metalflake too. the metalflakes are just a lot smaller.
