what are the benefits and the drawbacks of having an xmods r/c? do they really break a lot?

i have 2 had them since january, only one incident, the wires came off the battery pack, simple soldering fixed that. if you abuse them, they will break easier then other r/c's. xmods are good for messing around with, or if you are just getting into r/c's- but if you want to be competitive and want a really customizable r/c that you will have for a long time, you want to go with hobby grade r/c's (traxxas, mini-z,etc..)

Heres my suggestion, save up about $200 and buy an RTR HPI Micro RS4. There are many more available upgrades, and its a real RC.
If you dont want to spend a lot, then go to your hobby shop and see if there are any used cars you could buy.
Xmods are just supersized ZipCraps.
