'64 Impala

Got started on my Impala today,so far I have shaved all of the trim down to get a smooth look,I'll start on the suspension soon, It's gonna be sittin' "gangsta style",paint wise I think a lime green would look good.

I always thought lime green was such a pimp color. That chrome will look so nice with it. Give us some updates on what ya got coming.

real nice model i love the shaved trim and lime green is defnitly the right color keep it up and it will look great. heres some pics of mine if you wana see.

Yes, lime green is a good color. But everyone and thier roommates Impala's are lime green.Try a Candy Red, or a Blue Pearl. Or you can stick with the lime green and be un-original.

i painted my 63 with a gold basecoat and a transparent red topcoat.. it was so fucking beautiful :)

I did my 64 tamiya candy lime over a light gunmetal undercoat, also shaved the handles etc and had white interior. Very nice but i repainted it later then it ended up with all the rest.

Good luck with doing it, its a nice easy kit that can look great with minimal effort.

Looks great! Don't think I ever saw one that smooth.

Put a couple coats on the frame,this will also be the body color.

only thing that could improve it is panel lines! great job!

You say you've almost finished the body, that mean you still have to add the trim and black wash the grille? Also, are you going to use the whitewalls? They make a big difference believe it or not.
Paint looks schmick as though!

Well I shaved the trim off,and yes I still need to do all those things,and will.

It looks pretty damn good right now. One I recommend is to paint the inner part of the body because behind the wheelwells it doesn't look very good. Not to take anything from a great model though.

Pimp car! Looks a bit too low in the back but not bad. I think painting the rims gold would be cool.

white walls would add soo much to it, jus tape off and paint, also i agree it ouldlook nice with gold rims :)

If it looks good to you then its all that matters with Lowriders man. I'm sick of people in Australia making low lows from Impalas and Bel Airs, Americans only make their Lowriders from Impalas because they are a local full size car. We got plenty of other fullsize Aussie cars here but not many people have the balls to try them out, because they've seen so many Impalas and Cadillacs that they know they can look good.
