Well I finally found a spot to put my air tank. I was just about to drill some holes in my sliders for air tanks and decided to try and find a spot for the tank one last time.

I ended up sliding the tank over the rear diff and installing it above the drive shaft between the fuel tank and muffler. There is about 2" to spare between the shaft and tank under full compression. The hardest part was trying to drill the holes in the right location. The holes must be drilled from below so I made a template but it was still a b...h.

Because of the closeness to the muffler, I was concerned about the tank heating up and the pressure increasing, so I also installed a pressure relief valve.

Using a QA2, it takes 2 minutes to fill up. All I need now are the lockers.

Note the larger holes drilled in the front so I could get a socket on top and align the hole with the tank.

Just a quick question...
Where's the QA2?
I'm looking at a similar setup, but can't figure out what to with the QA2...

In the engine bay, passenger side near the firewall. I had to move some stuff around and make up some brackets. I will post some photos tomorrow.

I've found a spot on the frame rails... but woulld corrosion and such be too much for it? Thoughts?

Got any pics of your setup Aussie?

I'd be more concerned about the pump trying to suck in the crud that gets kicked up at/on it. You'll be changing that intake filter pretty often I'd say.

I agree with OffroadX, it would be too easy to get crap into it. A compressor can get hydro lock as well. Also there is a good chance of bouncing it on a rock, and rocks usually win.

Here are some photos of my QA2 install. My was actually a portable that I hard mounted. I moved the alarm horn and made up some brackets to mount it.
