1996 I30 Odometer problem

Have 1996 I30. The speedometer works fine but the odometer stopped working. Can't get it to register mileage traveled?? Any thoughts on problem or fix???? Is it cable or computer driven??

Hey, i have a 97 i30 and just went through the same problem...I went and brought it to the dealer and to see if its a cable or computer...(which cost 70 bucks...i hate those places!) but newho...they said that i would have to replace the whole cluster...the way its constructed...all of it has to be replaced...and i went to a couple of diff. places and they said the same also....and to replace it...it costs 500 and something bucks...ur best bet is to find a wrecked i30 at a junk yard or something and see if theirs works...im still looking for mine and its been about 5 months
