My 93 J30t has a driver side window problem. The window will go down albeit jerkey, but it will not come back up under it's own power. When I try to get it (the window) back up the window motor runs but every second or so of whirring there is a small squeak. Does anyone reading this have any experience with this problem? Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

try replacing your window motor i had this same problem and even though i could hear the motor whirring it still had to be replaced. I would also recomend calling up ur infiniti dealer and asking one of the tech guys to help you out.

Thanks Phil,
The problem turns out that the clutch in the window motor was partially shot. I got a new window motor from NAPA. The funny thing is that the driver side motors are $20 more than the passenger side motors which have a reversed polarity and a mirror image mounting bracket. It was still only a $79 fix and about 2 hours of time including shopping. Not too bad, it's nice to have a window that works out here in Arizona during the summer to keep that hot air out of the car.

I am having a similar problem on the Drivers side rear window of my '96 J30. I am looking to replace the entire motor/regulator assembly, but am having a tough time finding the part to replace it (i could by from nissan, but they want like $500). where diid you gets yours and are there substitutes (such as the motor/regulator for the 300zx, or a universal one) that i could use?

That price is way out of line. The window regulator is only about $85-90.
Check with Joe at Scottsdale Infiniti. They sell parts on the internet or phone for 25% off.
