My 2000 Kia Sportage is not starting when the motor has been run during the peak sun of the day and its hot outside about 80- 90 degrees. starts in morning fine at lunch time but not always at 3pm - 5pm . Drove 3 miles shut it off . 1 mile to home . turned it off . then 5 miles turned it off . 10 minutes later it wouldn't start . but it will turn over. If anyone can unravel the mystery please let me know.

This sounds similar to the problem I had, with corrosion on the battery connectors, would start when cold, but not after it warmed up, problem got worse as time went on. Unhook the battery and scrape off any corrosion then hook it back up. Sorry if it doesn't solve your problem, but for a few minutes under the hood, it's worth a try :)
