Hey whats up everyone... Im new here, and to the whole racing world. And I know your probably thinking "Fast And The Furious"-wanna be right? Well i've loved imports and racing since i was about 5 soo.. yeah. But anyways im only 15, and lookin to get a 2k civic si.. but dont make that much $$! So im lookin at a 91 crx si, all i know is it has a greddy turbo, 18 inch racing harts. The interior is all redone, in red and charcoal and black(professionally) and has buckets, and 5 pts in there, short throw shifter and the guages running down the left side of the windshield?? Hey i told you i was new:rolleyes: But anyways, i was just wondering if anyone knows about how much that is worth??? Thanks for your help.

depends on the condition....I'd guess anywhere from 5-12K. sorry its so broad but things like what engine (i.e. stock or swapped), what model turbo, minor mods (i.e. intake, exhaust, cam, etc.), mileage, paint, etc. all factor into it. I probably wouldn't pay over 12K for it, though
hope that helps:)

Someone on here a bit ago told me a turboed car didnt have intake or headers.... but the guy that is sellin said it had aftermarket intake and headers... hmm.. Well it has fairly new paint.. (red) with black wings ground effects kit, and i am not sure what type of spoiler.. and also 2 12" kenwoods and 2 fosgate amps... he blew his deck... like i said.. i am new.. and dont know to much... he is askin 3500... and in my opinion LOOKS great.. but like i said, looks.. it sounds like shit.. but nothing that some new exhaust couldnt fix. I what other info should i ask him about?

well, you should probably thoroughly look over it yourself....check the odometer, check under the hood, take it for a test drive....make sure it runs well, no grinding gears, a good clutch, etc.
3500 sounds a little too good to be true for a CRX in good shape w/ turbo, intake, header, interior, system, etc. find out why hes getting rid of it, too.
btw, a turboed car can have an intake and header I think

Hey, good to see someone else from Utah here. :) What part are you from? But I would be hesitant to buy a used racer. Yes, it would be easier to get that, but how do you know the car was not beat to hell? Maybe ask him what shop did the work, and talk to the shop. Or put up there name here, and we (us from utah) can tell if they are reputable or not. You could also try posting this in the Honda Forum, you will get a better response. Well, I will just move it for you.

Ok now turbo cars do not have intake or headers. If i were u i wouldn't buy it. I would just start from scratch? U don't know how its driven and with all that stuff in it...u don't know how he took care of it also? If anything though ...i can't tell you how much i think cause i don't know what kinds of mods he has in there. Just go buy a crx si with a good body condition and get a swap. Then start from there. AND he has 18inch rims on the rex? DAMN?!

Turboed cars don't use a header. They use a 4-1 exhaust manifold.

I'm down in layton. I dated a girl from Brigham once. :)
As for the mechanic. Im sure to really tell the condition of the motor, they woud ned to pull the valve cover, run som tests, etc. But Im not really sure on what to look for. :)

So he might be able to tell how much its been beat? i know he treats it damn good... but i have seen him kick the shit out of a couple kids and there mommys cars... So would i have alot of problems with it? I know im not givin enought info... And also he is there (mechanic) on saturdays.. (not on the clock) working on his mustang... so maybe he could take some time to run some tests... would any dynostics show that? or would he have to actually rip into it..? sorry so many ?s... thanks again:rolleyes:

Hmm... It sounds like a crazy deal. I would go with whomever else said not to buy it though. There is something about starting your own project that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside when you drive it. If you are really interested though, get the mechanics to look at it. And when you drive it, drive it until it gets warmed up so you can really tell how it runs.
...if you are not interested though, tell him you are and go race some people and rod it real nice. Then bring it back and leave

Most people don't give a lot of respect to those that buy pre-modded cars and drive them that way without any personalizations. That's how it is where i'm at and I don't imagine it much different in other areas. The cool thing about having a modded car is telling people what you've done, problems you encountered, shit like that, if you buy a pre-modded car than people see you as a wanna-be with too much money and too little knowledge. My car started bone stock and I get a hardon everytime I get to rattle off my list of mods, i'm just waiting for the day when my Garrett T-25 gets added to the list.

Yeah i know i would like to have the money to mod a car to how i want it. But also... who cares if people think i am a wanna be.. Isnt it all about you liken your car? And its not like i would leave it to how he had it... there is plenty of other mods that are waitin for me... I dont know.. just tryin to get some opinions... so thanks
