Airbag dummy light

I have a 96 GC, and the "airbag" dummy light is on all the time. I've had folks tell me this is fine, and to ignore it, but don't know if that's a great idea with something that forces a projectile at you at 200 mph in an accident. So any ideas - at least before I go spend too much at the dealership?

bring it to the dealer, there is a recall for it. Search the threads i think we beat that subject to death already

It's called the "clockspring recall" and your horn and cruise control are also probably malfunctioning.

It's a free fix from any dealer, and don't let them tell you it's not.

For more research, look up "Clockspring recall", or "horn and airbag light on" here or on a search engine. Hernandez is right, we've beat this subject to death more than twice!

Good luck, and be glad it's FREE to fix!

Hey Slant-- I just took my 99 Voyager to the dealer & they would not fix it without charging me. They repaired the clockspring alright & it works fine, but they said the was no basis for my claim. What can I do?
