I recently purchase a 91 nissan 240sx and i crack the block on it yesturday. Anyway's my mechanic told me that i should replace the engine but i dont want to replace it with another ka24de. I was wondering if this engine would work and with out buying alot more parts?

just get a sr20det motor :naughty:

but front clips for sr20det motor are alot more

yeh that thing is no good. Go for a SR20DET.

Yep, thats only +5 HP than a brand new KA24DE. That +5 is not worth the lost torque and the far higher price. get the SR20DET or an new KA.

N/A engines will be more expensive to build power. but it would defintley be original having an N/A SR20. i like seeing 2.0L N/As making 250Hp more than i like seeing 2.0 Turbos making 500Hp. to some people its all about power but somethin just draws me to N/As...

that being said id prolly get a CA18DET before i got an SR20DE... just because it would be cheaper to make power... im not a money Tree Damnit!

Yeah... if you were gonna go all JDM, then that would be cool making it right hand drive... but if you just want the engine... not worth it!

For the money your better off getting a sr20det or a rb20det..

A others have pointed out stock before stock no real noticeable difference..

Get a CA18DET or a SR20DET, personally i would deffinatly get the CA18 as its much cheeper cause everyone is after the SR20, and 200cc is nothing its only like 28hp difference. with the money u save on the CA18, just put it into the engine and ull have a quicker car than if u spent all ur cash on an SR20 :)

Look in your phone book, find a salvage yard, and buy a KA for $400. Then whatever you have left over, you can put into the engine. Lets face it, a turbo kit(custom) is only like 1000 if you budget it. KA>SRorCA. KA is cheaper than SR. The KA will keep up with a SR anyday and be running less boost.

there was a little knock and i decided to race it anyway while racing the knock got louder then the nextthing you knew is i see oil and transmission fluid
