Supra Engine Swaps

Well, this is my first post at these forums, so don't get all upset if I say something stupid.
Why is it that you guys are not in favor of a V8 in a Supra? It seems like it would be way more efficient. It would give better balance to the car (weight distribution), it weighs less, and is smaller. I realize that the 2jz-gte provides a whole ton of power, as I'm sure all of you have seen. However, I have noticed that on the jgtc website, all the race supras have used the DOHC 4.3L V8 from the sc430 and that in the past, the 3sgte. So why is it that you guys are completely against it and favor the 2jz-gte?
I was also wondering about the BMW 320i with the 2jz-gte engine. Who did this swap? Was it a custom job? How much power did it make? Was it for a hillclimb car? Thanks in advance for any information that you proffer.
