wasted an SRT-4 off the line

My buddy just got an 04 SRT-4, and we were hanging out. So I was like lets run em, I know you'll beat me but lets just do it for the hell of it. So he says okay. We catch a red light, and start revving. The light hits green and Im expecting to get pulled on hard but miraculously (spelling), I pulled on him. I was ahead until about 25 and then he blew by me. I thought it was pretty good for my one cammer. Just thought I share with everyone. We are gonna race again when I swap my motor (k24/k20 hybrid) :devil:

he's probably not used to his car yet. and your lack of power and lack of wheel spin helps you out :)

Well, he sucks at driving period. I still figuired that I would have been pulled on because he didnt spin alot. I preloaded my clutch before launching as well. I knew I was gonna lose anyways. We ran into an RX-8 and I almost talked him into letting me race it with his car.

Uh quik q that has nothing to do with this but why do people buy si crx's if all there gunna do is swap the engine anyway?

b/c they already are MPFI (what u need for a swap) a lot of amenities (ie. sunroof, recaro seats, power windows, ac and what not) and rear disc brakes (what other models lack)

great platform to start off with, better interior than other model's. It is heavier but I can live with it. seat's are way better. sunroof...I just like si's

those are the only car's ive ever owned were two 91 si's one crx and one hatch. both mint interior, the hatch was real clean but needed a motor and my luck went to hell with that car. this car the paint suck's but it run's great so I don't mind.

Let your boy practice a lil bit more....if he still cant get it then he needs to buy an automatic w/ traction control. SRT-4's could be very very fast off the line pending a couple fo things....driver skill....road conditions.....an LSD would help them cars out alot

yeah, hes getting better. ALOT better actually. Hes getting ready to upgrade his turbo next. There's an evo around here Im going to try to get him to run and hopefully film it. Another guy has a scary fast accord Ill try to get setup.

04's have factory lsd's

which are most likely faster than you it may just be a neon but a good buy for the price if you can deal with how ugly they are

it's funny that regardless of what mopar did with the neon, they still can't shake the "but, it's a Neon" stigma. personally, if i had 20 grand i'd drop it on an srt-4 any day. i hope that first sentence isn't gonna stir anything up. i didn't mean for it to sound that way. just makin a nuetral statement.

SRT-4's are hard to drive......... period. i bet the same thing would happen if you drove his car and he drove yours.

your honda would have done better than the rx8, talk about no low-end torque.

The srt-4 has earned its respect from me...they spool up a lot faster than other cars, and my boys srt-4 just put on a stage one up grade which consisted of fuel injectors and a better ecu and hes got a blow off valve and he's ripping up sti's (a friend who raised his boost to 18 with minor mods) and an occasional lancer (with work as well)...so if its still a NEON than so be it but its respectable

I hung with a stock srt-4 once they are quick from 30 roll to 120 then 50 roll to 130

I hung with an 04 side by side till about 105mph.

They are quick. I just dont like how stunnaz who know nothing about car's pick them up for like 18k used and then run around the street's like they own them and talk massive shit.
