I need some advice on where to go to find what engine is in my Prelude?I know where to look on the motor but it's gone. This is an older car it has a 1829cm2 CID 112 and the engine ID is C84D.This whole car was made in Japan. I just want to find outwhat engine series it is;the ownership says it's a 89 but they didn't put these motors in that year;they went to 2000cc. Hope some one has an idea where I can get this info... :smokin: ( got this info off the stickers under the hood )

so you're saying the previous owner did an engine swap on your prelude or is this the original engine that came with it?

can you post a picture of the motor?

this is the problem I real don't know if it's the origioal or not I beleive it is it has had some work done on it cause the block is painted Blue along with ither things lk starter one rear break so i'm guessing it's original. I can't get a pic. right now but it's got the dual carbs. does that help?

I can't post one right now . i know there's been work done on it cause the block, starter and a rear break that i looked at are painted blue. From what i know the guy that owned it wanted to keep it original. i aquired the car for some one else. it has dual carbs and the trani # is GM3639977 the engine # should be to the right of it on the block unless its somwe where else on Preludes thanks Dave

Engine code should be ES for that engine. The only other motors from the Japanese Preludes of that time (82-91) were the ES 1.8 and old B20As, carbed or fuel injected.

Thanks but the point is the engine # isn't on the motor. :smokin:

I know for a fact that the B20A's have it, I saw one today. The ES should also, maybe it's under some schmegma.
