My skyline image gallery

As some of you may or may not have noticed (if not shame on you :p ) my website and all of the images linked from it don't work anymore, that is because I have switched to a connection with a faster upload speed (which means faster downloads for you ;) ) and one that does not have a filter on every stupid port so I no longer have to have that gay :8080 thing at the end... anyway the site is back up and you can access it by either going to http://skyline.lymz.us or www.GTR.us.tt :) Oh yeah and BTW, I'm going to be making all the full size images and videos available to everybody regardless of if they have a username and password...however an account is still needed in order to upload becasue I don't want the whole world using my site so upload things without me being able to see who did it...I'll be redesigning the whole thing, maybee actually add some *gasp* content as well as a better gallery maybe a forum pic of the week/day or whatever, hell maybee even an IRC channel or something...big plans but we will see how long my attention span is.....



Oh yeah and 1 more thing....I was looking over my bandwith and I noticed that on june 5th somone (whos IP has been banned) was using some leech program to basically scour my site and save all the content, now I don't claim to own any of those photos, but it sure as heck did take a long time to set up the server, find them all, post them, and I do pay for my internet service and server expenses out of pocket so I don't appreciate people just ripping my entire site without atleast having the decency to ASK... I've also found links to my formerly "members only" videos online, I don't mind, I just ask that 1. You don't stream them and 2 give me credit for finding all that stuff by providing a link to my main page :)

60 bucks a month? wow, thats how much I pay for my 1.5 DSL service (and phone service) :(

The pics aren't a problem but if you want to help out with the vids that would be great :D I've been wanting to put up some larger highres Best Motoring vids and the GTR prodigy clips as well as some OPTION and gumball/tekademics videos but at 700+ MB a pop and tons of people downloading, the speeds would be horrendous. Anyway, let me know what/how you do this. I'm going to be away from a computer for the next 2 days or so but just PM me any FTP info or if you have secure SSH I can make a username and password for you then give you access to the files, whichever is more convinient for you. :)

On a side note, do you know of a gallery that will automatically make thumnails of the video clips? I'm currently using gallery from sourceforge but all it does is display this dumb little video camera instead of a thumbnail.

How much overall space are you looking at?

I'm currently on vacation so I don't know exactly how much space my car videos take up...I can check when I get home next week, I'm also going to take most of the videos and compress them using the divx codec that way they will all use the same codec and take up much less space. I'll PM you all the info when I get home :)

sorry man, my damn cat jumped inside my FTP server cause I had the side pannels taken off. Yeah, she also managed to gnaw threw my braided ultra320 SCSI cable so.......

If she jumps in my webserver or my firewall I'm gonna kick her ass.

dude, that lymz site was yours?????? hahahhah. I copied like all of those images you have on there a while ago. where did you get all of those? I haven't posted them or anything, I just like them all so I gobbled them up... you know how it is :-)

oh and BTW, what's up with the 30Kbps video upload? come on man, you can do better than that.
