Okay I have a couple of questions specifically for the 99 Malibu. First how many pistons does the caliper have? What size are the stock brakes, and last have you upgraded or seen brake upgrades for Malibu’s? I want slotted rotors to replace the stock ones. If you can answer any or all of these that would be great.

Each caliper has one large piston (about 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter)
Have an auto parts shop get the correct size pads for you (I prefer Bendix for my Mali)
I personally dont have upgraded brakes but i have seen them. (Online somwhere, don't remember where, sorry) Warning: some required larger wheels for clearance.
I have seen sloted rotors for the Malibu in many places for not TOO awful much. About $80 each i suppose.

Actually, slotted and pitted rotors are not really necessary for malibus. Once I got the roght calipers and put on ceramic and porcelain brakes, I have had no more problems.
