AutoSound High Flow Cat installed

I have been reading WAY to many maintenance issue threads lately, how some zoom zoom posts..heheh

Well, today I finished my exhaust with the installation of an AutoSound catalytic converter. I was worried the sound would be overbearing, so I decided to stay with the stock resonator. Turned out to be a good idea. The car has a bit more of a rumble, a bit more sound at acceleration and she whines at WOT...thank you gutted intake :D

But more importantly. It opens up the exhaust a bit more, while maintaining that backpressure needed to put you into your seat. The acceleration is much better now, the car is damn near jumpy off the line.

For $240 bux installed with a lifetime warranty, the guys at my exhaust shop made me happy. I talked to the manager there about L47 headers, he explained that the cost vs performance doesnt really justify the effort. He said you'd be better off with a performance based exhaust components then headers. Port and polish made, but not really necessary with a V8.

So onto the 80mm TB :naughty:

I would want to see some numbers before doing that swap. Apparently its a lot of work.

I was at RSM Racing 2 days ago and they confirmed the story, its something they don't offer because the value vs. gains were minimal. Essentially a performance exhaust (high flow cat, optional removal of stock res and better mufflers) will help tremendously.

12-14 HP easy
