I believe the 3.8L V6 is the best motor that Pontiac has...especially the supercharged version.

Id say nonsupercharged is more reliable; fewer things to go wrong (although i do like the s/c one better)
but best all-time has to be the LS1/LT1 (you can't beat a 350, its about bulletproof)
but if youre swapping out a 2.2, i doubt a 350 would fit. go with a 3800 or 3800 s/c

the pontiac 400 small block is practically indestructable and my personal experience says that one will still run strongly with half the cylenders at 75 to 85% compression and the other half under 50% compression, but i dont think that its practical for your application

its only supercharged on grand pri gtps and the new monte carlo ss' and some bonnevilles i think, mabe a couple others, but most of the 3800s are naturally aspirated

The regal gs has a supercharged engine.
If you wanna see what available for 3800sc parts go to:
http://www.3800performance.com/index.html
If you want to put one in your car check out this:

Hope you have lots of money. I wanted to do it, and it would be cheaper to buy a Grandam ect.
Best of luck whatever you decide.

the 3.8 is a buick design from way back. this was the most powerful and fuel economical engine GM could offer.
