I have a '92 325i convertible with the power top.
The latches do not lock down the boot and also having problems with the alignment. I was advised to convert to a manual system. It shows both in my owners manual. It looks like I need to cut a hole in the rear drivers side panel for the latch mechanism. Can anyone tell me what I need for cables etc to lock down the back boot? Do I remove the existing cables from the electric motor and somehow connect them to a manual latch??? Right now I take the top down by hand and stow it in the compartment but can't lock down the boot so I have been wedging a piece of wood under the latches to keep the boot from flying open while driving. There has to be a better way!!!! HELP!!
