sunlight and subs

Maybe this is a stupid question but I was just wondering if direct sunlight could damage a sub? I don't have tint but I want my subs to be sitting window level with the subs reversed...could this be a bad decision? Always aware of theft as well.

I'd be more worried about temperature...leaving them in the sunlight would keep them hot, especially when reversed. They would heat up quicker and you run a higher risk of melting your voice coil.

over time, the UV rays will probably damage the cones .... but we are talking about years here

well im not so sure about the subs, but when my friend was putting speakers in his car (its a pretty old car) he removed his stock ones, he didnt have tint, and the grill wasn't a mesh, so the sunlight got thru mostly.. once we took out the speakers, the rubber surround turned into dust.. so yea.. i would get tint or some kind of mesh to cover it, but it wont happen for years
