I have a problem towing I seem to lose alot of power and my gas mileage goes to about 5-6 mpg. Ive went through 4 trannys and 1 engine thank God for extended warranty. I pull a lite series travel trailer 6500 lbs. What can I do to improve my power and gas mileage, Any ideas greatly appreciated

if the trailer is 6500 lbs, how much is all the stuff and people you're putting in the truck, too? Along with the rest of the camping supplies stored in the trailer? You might be suprised to find out that you're over loading the truck.

On the other hand, if you're not using an aftermarket Heavy duty Transmission cooler (I assume it's automatic) then that'll hurt you.
Gas mileage? 5-6 at a gross of over 14000lbs isn't great, but not that bad.
What motor is in it?
What transmission?

Maybe we could help you with some more info.
