thinking of a getting a 240

I went and looked at a 93 240sx the other day and i happened to see that the speedometer only went to 110 mph. I know that it is not the the fastest the car can go but what i wanted to know was how can i change it.

only thing you can do is get an aftermarket speedo or swap in the jdm one so that it looks higher (reads in km up to 180)

yep, in sr's you can go way higher than that. in 4th gear i can get mine up to about 130, then i shift to 5th :evillol:

But yes, the KA goes faster than that. You can cut a wire from the ecu that limits the car at 112. Then you get a fuel cut at 120. HKS sells limiter removal units and so do various companies. I give the KA 125 stock. A nice exhaust system and intake can raise that considerably depending on what system you get. I know my N1 system pulls really hard from 5-6.8rpm. The fuel cut is at 5k@120mph so you tell me. Oh and FUCK THAT FUEL CUT.

yea sr's are sweet. i think its a necessity for me living. definatetly get one. its worth the money, and you will get further hooked with 240s beyond belief. you will never be able to get another car without thinking about your 240 with the sr. its a sickness.

I already have my mind set on the KAT. I'm a drag guy and I love torque. Plus the KA is cheaper. I'm a believer in the no replacement for displacement (past muscle car guy) but ironically fell into the 240 scene. I already love the 240 and would only trade it for four cars(to drive). Congrats on the time and I heard you sold the car. I don't like the money excuse. Why?

because im in the process of buying a 400whp s13.... seeing it tomorrow to possibly place a deposit on it. all i needed was to sell that sil80 quick, which im grateful it did.

180kmh isn't that much, it's 110mph. Oh and you can get a Nismo speedo that goes up to 260kmh which is about 165mph, but it's around 250$. S14 one goes up to 300kmh, 180mph.
