fix this amp

is there someone out there that is willing to fix my broken amp im willing to dish out 30 bucks maybe more needs to live in so cal

Dude, sell it on eBay and buy yourself a new one. An amp is never worth fixing unless you can do it yourself. Word your ad somethin like this

"Great amp! Lots of power! Worked great for me until I upgraded. No more need for this amp." then list its specifications. DO NOT say it works if it doesn't, but also don't say it doesn't work. I paid $50 for a fried Pyramid 1200W amp (didn't know it was fried, but w/e)...resold it for $120.

nah, as long as you don't lie. You dont have to tell EVERYTHING. As long as you don't lie about it's condition, your fine. Trust me, I hacked it out with eBay admin about that pyramid amp.

and i thought a lie by omission was still a lie? even if sold "as is"...

anyway, the underhanded approach is just as not worth it as trying to fix it if the results are unknown... fix it if you know which transistors are blown, or if you want it to become your next hobby :biggrin:... otherwise, plan on a new amp...

That's common courtesy, yes. But in legalese, if its not spoken, you can't assume.

fixing amps are easy....most of the time a transistor isblown just find out which one(s) and order a new one and replace it....ull need a soldering gun and a desoldering tool but its very easy.

see but the problem is that I opened my amp a everything looks fine I have no idea what to look for???

google "how test transistor" can get lots of background... basically you can use an ohm meter or a digital multimeter to tell if a transistor is good or bad... but if this is falling into serious hobby territory (i.e., "what's a DMM? and what's this PNP, NPN thing?", a new amp may be in order :-)

pull your board COMPLETELY out of the case. Flip the entire board over and look for black spots. Sometimes you can see the black spots on the top too, but not usually. Check everything that the black spots touch (if there are any).

so flip the board over but the thing is there are some transtor looking things on the sides and seemed to be glued on the sides of the amp its self I guess its safe to unglue that?? but if I do im going to need something strong cause there hard to remove
