2004 Maxima Knocking Noise (not engine)

My dad just bought a 2004 Maxima SL(3 weeks ago), and everytime we like hit a bump in the road we hear a knocking noise(drivers side) like something is bouncing up and down in the car. We scheduled a check for Wednesday, I wanted to tell my dad so he can tell the Nissan people what to check.

Is the suspenion, which ever that sound came from that suspension is having a problem. That happened to my 2001 Altima before and they didn't know what happened with it so they just replace it and the sounds is gone. Every now and then similar things happen even with new cars.

My dad went to the dealer and they fixed it. It was the strut. No more noise.
