Couple of questions about rods.
#1) Are the rods from the B16 (A I think) stronger than the rods from the D16, and could you use them in the D16.
#2) I work in a machine shop that makes aerospace engine parts. We have FULL shot peen capability. If I shot peen a set of rods myself, would they would be strong enough to handle more power.

No, You can't use B16 rods on a D16, they don't fit the crankshaft and probably are different lengths.
Yes if you shot peen your own, that'll work too.

but if plan on producing any kind of substantial power shot peening them isnt gonna be enough. i dont know if you've ever seen d series rods but they arent exactly what i would call stout.

I was thinking that but he didn't give any expectations so I figured they should suit mild needs.

just get some forged aftermarket rods and be done with it...they don't cost that much...get some pistons as well so you don't have to pay for the machine work/assembly twice.
