HI i have been looking around hear and bunch at what lights u all are running on your trucks but most of them are out of my price range. I have narrowed it down to the kc daylight and the hella 500 they seem like equals from what i have read but im lookin for someone who has used one or the other also i am goin to mount them on my brush guard. Yes i know what u all wonting to say brushguards suck do more harm than good but it came on my X and i like the way it looks. Plus i dont have the money right now for an arb. Back to the subject does anyone have any ideas on how i should mount lights on a 3 in thick round pipe. I have a few ideas

1 try to drill threw it
2 get someone to weld somthing on
3 get somthing to go around it and hook on

any help would be great

thanks

happy new xterra owner

Yup, that's what I would do. Otherwise you can drop some money on something like the 76mm (3" is 76.2 mm) TJM Aerial bracket here:

Hellas are the lowest I would go and get no complaints from those in our club who use them. On a side note they aren't very deep so many people mount them on their front bumper with a drill and bolts (not needing a brush guard, which you should rip off your truck asap. :D)

You should use floods IMO. I have spot rally lights on my ARB, and floods up on the roofrack. It works really well as the floods give me lots of light all around and on the side (almost to the side of my door). The spots illumiate far down the road in front and work well for higher speed road driving as well.

Not sure if they're the best, but they've got a good selection of IPF's.

www.4x4connection.com.

IPF lights aren't cheap but they're excellent lights. Here's what I've got.

SuperRally lights: $300

MSR900's: $215

816 Backup lights: $80

And these on my VW Camper. JO1's $339

Floods on the roof isn't so hot as I hear, too much light hits the hood etc. and actually fouls up your night vision.
Spots on the roof, floods on the bumper.
