Get better putty. I have said it once, and I will continue to say it until it gets through your thick skull. It looks hideous right now...the putty just looks so bad.

Once you get some new putty, I cant wait to see your other projects. Quit taking the cheap way out, models arent cheap.

Looking good man, I dont see the point in bitchint at you about your putty, its your model, and your putty. do what you like with it. I havent even tried using any sort of putty on plastic models yet, so I cant talk.
Nice sub box man..whered you get your subs?

Whats wrong with the putty? I'm not trying to question you or anything I'm just curious. What kind would you recommend?

hi first time poster here and first time model buider...

i have a question, how do you tackle the gap between the wheel drum(??) and the body.. puttying it seems to be difficult and using styrene i think is hard too/.. so any suggestion?

ps
nice mode spc the doors...

mike@af

I know I sound pretty neurotic and anal about it, but its annoying problem I have.

I am tired of seeing the wrong putties being used the wrong way. I am a bit of a control freak so dont take any of it personally. Spot putty is made for filling teeny tiny holes in fillers, not for use as a filler.

Whats wrong with the putty? I'm not trying to question you or anything I'm just curious. What kind would you recommend?

Like I stated above, spot and glazing putties are one part and dry by evaporization. Spot/Glazing putties are for just that, filling tiny holes in filler, and glazing rough spots. Not for big jobs. Since it does not dry chemically the putty will shrink and continue to dry for years, thus cracking paint later on and what not.

I reccomend most two part putties, such as: Tamiya Epoxy Putties, Evercoat Eurosoft, and Milliput.

and hey, to all you guys that say this putty and so and so dont work, seriously leave him alone some people, i dont know if he is one, but i am, dont have the money/avaliabilty to any kind of tamiya putty, i cant order stuff off the internet and my local hobby shop doesnt have a good selection of any thing except for some muscle cars and a few OVER PRICED tamiya models, nothing in the way of their paint, so leave the guy be, its obviously working for him, so get over the fact it didnt for u

Well, I totally agree with what you have said. personally, I make do with what I have, I cant afford to drive all over hells half acre to buy fancy pants putties. I bought a tube of that normal tamiya putty (the toothpast kind, in a small tube and it ran me up $11.00 Canadian. And thats the only putty the LHS sells. So, I tend to make do with what I can find and afford, and like you said, I dont have a credit card, so ordering things off the net isnt a very good option, and when I do, I order from a Canadian Distributer because its so much cheaper for me, and he doesnt carry putty.

man the buttons on your keyboard (panic & anykey) are great!!

awesome job on the model! My civic looks awful compared to this one. Mines bone stock lol. I know what you mean about the putty. All I can get...short of ordering off the net...which i have no cash to do (saving up for an HPI Savage :smokin: ) is use Squadron. It seems to work well for me now. Im headed by the LHS today (very very small...but good selection of models. ) All they have is Testors paint and Squadron putty...but ive always had good results with testors anyways.

Good luck finishing this! It looks great.

hey Ricky...have you started on the Front Subframe and steering linkage (4. Front suspension Assembly- Letter B.) I cant fit the steering linkage to the subframe...it doesnt fit right. Does yours??

Also on your engine (anyone whos built the Revell SI for that matter) are you adding an airfilter to the intake? if so..how?
