i was just wondering how interchangable the parts on these to cars are, is everything mechanical the same including the suspension and stuff or is it just the motors or what? plus i am gonna go look at a 92 stealth es w/ 110k for $2700/obo, is that good?

Yeah - for the most part the Stealth and 3000GT are the exact same car. All the parts are interchangable between the trim lines. However, there was no 3000GT engine equivelent to the ES. The 3000GT SL had the same engine as the Stealth RT and the VR4 and RT/TT were the same. With that said, unless you do an engine rebuild, its unlikely that you'll ever have a problem finding parts from an SL (if you get the ES).

2700 for a 92 ES is probably not to bad if the car is in great shape.

right >>> its a good deal, but i would consider an rt. i had a ninetythree stealth rt and it was HUGE FAST! it had computer controled suspension and it rode like it was on rails. i took a posted 15mph turn at 70mph with ease (dont try this at home. we're trained professionals/idiots). like said above, the 3000gt sl is the same engine as the rt and the same model year is interchngeable with eachother for even most interior parts and cosmetics too!

the ES and the RT (non turbo) had the same engine. (at least in the 92 model year) the RT was the RT-Turbo body with the ES engine. (3.0L 24 valve DOHC V6) The ES was a lower trim package, but had the same engine. 92 year had three engines and four trim packages.

SOHC V6, DOHC V6, and Twin Turbo DOHC V6,
and Base Model, ES, RT, and RT-Turbo.

wowwwwwwwwwww.....i just got on the af forum and all i can say is wow. if u own or want to own a 3000gt or stealth then get on 3si and read a couple posts. thats 3 s i . o r g. ok here's how it goes (although the post before me had it right) stealths were made between 91-96 the order goes stealth base sohc v6 es-r/t dohc v6 (same motor and mechanical features just with a differnt look) r/t twin turbo. lets say that again....twin turbo. now the 3000gt (91-99) has the same basic idea. tho i have learned a great deal about these cars im not sure if they offered a sohc v6 before 97. but a base 3kgt will prolly have a sohc, sl will have a dohc, and a vr4.....one more time.....TWIN TURBO! lol sorry for my fellow 3siers, im drunk and i cant believe he questions on this board!!! i thought 3si was bad! but yeah....i have the piece of crap sohc and honestly...im putting a single turbo on it. everyone is tellin me it wont hit 13's and maybe it wont, but if it does i will be the first (to my knowledge) sohc in the 13's. wish me luck!!!

2700, for a dodge stealth es? Honestly my opinion would be to try to find either as RT or TT. There is just thing that really bugs me aboud the es. The rear bumper part, on most es's i saw a black line with the ES DODGE STEALTH on it (or something rather close to that) and i dunno, that just bugs me. Also Most of the ES's that i've heard of end up having a lot of problems, but then again, what car doesnt start to have problems at 110K miles. If it's stick, i can almost garantee that you may need to replace the clutch here within 5-15K miles. I had to, even though my stealth has a about 160K. And let me tell you, the clutch expence for a stealth, isnt pretty.

My clutch system is (Was, I guess) still going strong- I had to replace the slave cylinder at about 125,000, but the rest of the clutch has had zero problems. All my problems have been engine related...

3000GT 91-96 has the DOHC motor, 97-99 has the SOHC motor, all SL's have the DOHC motor, and VR-4s have the DOHC TT motor

as for having an SOHC in the 13s, that will be VERY VERY difficult, first off, your going to have to be able to get the power to do so, and producing a single turbo on the car does not produce the results that twin turbos do on our cars. You'd probably be better off putting a RIPP supercharger on than a single turbo. Also, your boost will be limited as well do to the fact that the SOHC internals are not as strong as the TT internals. A rip supercharger will put as much FWHP as a stock VR-4 puts AWHP, and you will be good for 14s, because you will not be able to get off the line quick enough due to traction issues. Believe me, there are front wheel drive DOHC twin turbos around who are in the 14s because they cannot catch traction the slightest bit

im gonna have to disagree. with an lsd and drag radials i can cut a low 2 sec. 60' traction through 2nd wont be too bad. the ripp s/c is good for 100 hp maybe 130 hp in a 5 speed. running a s/c at 5 psi is not gonna pull anywhere near as hard as a quality single turbo setup. im not gonna half ass this. im either gonna a run evoIII 16g or a t3/t4 hybrid.that will hold all the boost i need to redline.dohc have 10:1 compression where as sohc's have 8.9:1 compression. therefore the sohc in theory can handle more boost. now the dohc will make power better, that is a fact. the record for a fwd 3/s right now is 11.8 in the 1/4. at 10-12 psi im sure ill put 300 fwhp to the ground.there's no way a ripp s/c will match that. even if it will the turbo has more potential. 13's are a goal that i would LOVE to acomplish. and ive been told on 3si it will never happen. but i would rather have fun trying that swap my motor out for a dohc and start from scratch again. traction is the biggest issue. but if u can make enough power once u catch traction its been proven already it wont matter. besides....from a 50 rolll :D its gonna be a blast!!!!!!!!! i apreacaite your opinion but lets not bench race just yet. ive already gotten flamed on 3si for mentioning it. next summer we'll see what happens....btw..lets get back on topic here :O :D

i took a posted 15mph turn at 70mph with ease

That is FIVE TIMES!! The turning limit. They must HIGHLY underrate the roads in your state. I done double, 35-70, 40-80, and once closer to trippling it, but that's 5 TIMES. My car was screaming for me to calm down at double. You must have a damn race car on your hands......damn feather with konis and nittos and s**t. I'd love to see a video.
