If you're in the US, check out your local Infiniti dealer. Ask them for a G35.

MunG35 or VQuick---could you tell me---what systems are in the Infiniti that make it a "skyline"? I have been wondering this for a little while. Does it have ATTESSA, HICUS, or an RB series engine? Don't kill me, I'm just wondering....

HICAS...

Just thought I would slap you there, haha. :D

Not all Skylines have to have RB's either... The new R35 is rumored to have the VH45DE for USDM version... And VQ35DETT for JDM version...

Keep in mind, RUMORS.

I just love G35 for its styling. But I would never pay $35,000 for it... Rather put that money to an R33 GTR. Just me personally.

It's simpler than what 'systems' the Infiniti has. It's pretty much a rebadged version of the 'brand new' Skyline currently on sale in Japan. The Infiniti G35 is available with the biggest motor(260hp 3.5L V6) standard, while the Skyline has a 2.5L(215hp) V6 with the 3.5L('276hp') as an option. The Skyline had ATTESA-ETS awd for a while, and the G35 recently got it added as an option. The Skyline also has a CVT option, while the G35 does not. Both cars are available in coupe form, with the 3.5L as the only engine choice. The current Skyline and G35 do not have HICAS or an RB engine. The RB was discontinued two years ago.

I also might add that there is not a GT-R currently on sale. The current Skyline and G35 are the lower-level, non GT-R variants, and probably the best to come along in quite a while. Tehy will make an excellent canvas to base a GT-R upon.

Thanks a lot! You saved me a trip to my local Nissan/Infiniti dealer (about two blocks down to road....). My wife has been wanting a 350Z (this amongst a million other things...CLK430, Navi, etc etc) and I think I could compromise on the G35 coupe.

The current Skyline (Sedan) can also be equiped with the 3.0L V6. The 3.5L and 4WD are models, not really options.

Here's the current Skyline sedan models, keep in mind there may be some differences in the most current model:
Models produced from 2002 (january)

# / Model / Drive / Trans / Displacement, litres / Engine / Frame

1 / 250GTm / FR / AT / 2.5 / VQ25DD (NEO Di) /GH-V35
2 / 250GT / FR / AT / 2.5 / VQ25DD (NEO Di) / GH-V35
3 / 250GT P collection / FR / AT / 2.5 / VQ25DD (NEO Di) / GH-V35
4 / 250GT S collection / FR / AT / 2.5 / VQ25DD (NEO Di) / GH-V35
5 / 250GT FOUR / 4WD / AT / 2.5 / VQ25DD (NEO Di) / GH-NV35
6 / 250GT FOUR P collection / 4WD / AT / 2.5 / VQ25DD (NEO Di) / GH-NV35
7 / 250GT FOUR S collection / 4WD / AT / 2.5 / VQ25DD (NEO Di) / GH-NV35
8 / 300GT / FR / AT / 3.0 / VQ30DD (NEO Di) / GH-HV35
9 / 300GT S collection / FR / AT / 3.0 / VQ30DD (NEO Di) / GH-HV35

Hope this helps to compare to the US models.

If I want a skyline, it's not for power, but for the looking

Then I wouldn't be looking at the new skyline as I personally think they are ugly as sin.

Good, because these are probably among the best performing non-GT-Rs ever available.

I think "brand new" and "cheap" are two different things :-)

I think buying a new car is stupid. Just my opinion.
