Can anyone tell me the firing order for a 1971 Olds Cutlass with a 350 Rocket engine, and the position the rotor should be at?

the rotor pic they will give you in books is the rotor pointing to the driver side just past 3 O'clock. that should be close but other wise take out number one plug (driver front) and have a helper trun the engine over one "bump" of the ignition at a time with your thumb over the hole for the plug. when the compression blows you thumb off then look at where the rotor is pointing and that will be very close to where you need #1 plug wire. then a timing light will do the rest. you can get it good by ear if no timing light is available. remember this is opposite rotation of a chevy engine but same order.
