Filter Chip thingy?!!!

hey, my dad and i bought this new Filter and when we added it, it wouldnt start?!! why? i see that theres some wires goin to the stock air filter. how do i "take" it off. my dad wants this filter to be on in his Tundra. So, help Tundra Tuners!!

were does the wire go to? is the wire on the end of the tube just before the filter box? does it connect to a square block that is held in place by two philips head screws and says toyota on it? If so then thats the mass air flow sensor and you cant remove it.

What kind of filter is it?
