engine code P 1350 and P 1375

I have a 1997 Aurora and had the codes scanned after the check engine light came on. The codes are P1350 (Fuel level sensor B Intermittent/Bypass Line Monitor) and a code P1350 ( Ignition Coil - Cylinder 5 - Early Activation Fault). With the P1350 I have no idea as to what it is, and I assume that the P1375 has something to do with either the Coil or Ignition Module. I have changed the plugs and wires, PCV valveand air filter. Changing one of the O2 sensors cleared that code. Any help would be appreciated!

For my 1998 Aurora..

1350 is ignition control system. System tests seem to look at making sure good connections in ignition control module or replacing it and if nothing there then PCM.

1375 is ignition control reference circuit high voltage. Tests look at testing and jumpering for crank sensor then ignition control module then PCM.

Look at obdii.com. You'll need your vin # to tell which of the definitions, but the two for the G body were that Bypass Line Monitor (which I haven't the faintest) and the other said Ignition Control System, not Fuel level sensor whatever.

FYI, I had to try several times to get past the page where they want to send you junk mail, but I never did have to enter any personal info.

I also looked at P1375 and and it said no crank sensor 1 or 2.

So much for the fed saying "All vehicles shalt have universal computer disgnostics"...

This information seems to make a lot more sense than the definitions tht were given to me. The car is acting like it is missing just a little to missing a whole bunch. I will check with the crank sensor first and see if it helps.

Here is a description I found for my 98 for crank position sensor location etc. I assume its the same for 97.

The two crankshaft sensors are located on the front bank (BANK 2) of the engine block between cylinders 4 and 6. Crankshaft position A sensor is located in the upper crankcase and crankshaft position B sensor is located in the lower crankcase. Both sensors extend into the crankcase and are sealed to the engine block with 0-rings. The crankshaft position sensors are not adjustable.

Well, I finally have a conclusion to my code problem. I changed the crank sensors and unfortunatly did not solve the problem. I took the car to the dealer and they sourced the problem to a short in one of the connectors that plug into the ignition module. $188 and a day later the check engine light is off and the car runs fine. The service tech said, which I agreed, that there was no way in finding the problem myself. Zimaad and dsat12, thanks for your help!! It gave some concrete places to eliminate.

Now all that is left is to find a hub cap for the vogue wheels...
