can someone tell me what the awd settings are? where the stick should be at for regular city driving. i plan to turn my truck into a street car rather than an off road. well anyway the thing has 5 settings, they are

L loc
L
N
H
H loc

i know that the tran goes to neutral if its on neutral. i have it on H right now, but i want to know what setting would give me the best gas efficiency for city streets, and what setting would give me the most power for when some cocky ass mofo tries to race me.
thanks.

H is the best....because Hloc means that the differential will be locked. It makes your gears in the diffrerential force to muchin curves and you can damage them. But it is nice to put it in Hloc if you wanna do a smoke show. L is low and Lloc is Low with the differential locked.

69 Chevelle is right.
If you use any setting other than H (4-high) your fuel economy will plummet and your drivetrain will be beat to hell. The lock position on your transfer case only locks the center differential, meaning the truck will have a 50/50 torque split at all times. You only need that if you plan on venturing off pavement. :)

Running in constant 4 hi on dry pavement isn't a good idea... Your transfer case isn't designed for it, what you should do if you want AWD is grab a bravada transfer case and ECM for the same year and swap it in, you will also need the half shafts if you don't want to bind up in turns...
