poll: s13 or s14?

Which car do you guys perfer? An s13 or an s14.

s13 owners will say s13 is better cause they cant afford an s14.

Hmm, I voted S13 even though I don't own it, I like the way it looks with a kit on it. I think the 97 style S14's look nicer than the S13 though. But like the 95 version looks too family car from the front for my taste. And TheLogikal, I'm pretty sure KenOhki was just joking because you said someone would say that. But S15 kicks both their asses.

i would say s13 if your more serious about drifting..... lighter i think.... and i like the way it looks with a kit and sileighty conversion

i'll say go with the s13 because its liter and more easy to work on plus i hate how the s14 looks like looks almost like a grandma car lol.

i chose s13. Its all around better. the older models are lighter, and if you pick the coupe, omg! lower it, some nice wheels, and do a s15 front end conversion, its nice, and cheap too :smokin:

key word is s13's are cheap, they have much worse build qualities than s14s, much more problems from what I heard.

Older model 300zx's (late 80's) are trashy.

I think I like the S14 because it has better balance on it, but like everyone else said the S13 is lighter.

well the s13 is lighter but alot of its weight is in the front so it isnt balanced like the s14. but by my name you can see which one i like better. :)

i chose the s13, cause its cheaper, and lighter, but the s14 chassis is stiffer by like 50%, or something like that. i always seem to go back and forth on looks, so looks wise ill have to say i like them both the same.

you shouldnt like a car because it has a better resale value. you should like for the way it looks, feels, and drives when your behind the wheel.

honestly there is minimal difference between the s13 and s14, same cars pretty much each have there strong points and weaknesses. Having driven both I find the interior more comfortable in the s14 and more practical. Re-sell value is a factor though, when you have a job. I aint going to go out of my way to purchase a car, that will be an endless money pit. I want to reap something for the effort in doing it up..

^ amen to that, resale factor is definetly a factor. One of the main reasons why I don't like domestics, their price shoots down fast like a deflated baloon. So once you paid a lot for your new car, to see its resale value shoot down a lot each year is not good, when you want something new you are going to lose a lot of money by selling your car.

besides the price, theres nothing better about the 13 over the 14. dont bother saying its lighter, cause its clear that this mistake is only in america, in japan the sr20 was upgraded with 15 more hp, easily compinsating for the slight weight problem.

I do think the S14 is damn sexy, I just happen to think the RPS13 is much sexier. Sure its not curvy and molded like the S14, and sure maybe it looks like a Ford Probe if you aren't looking that hard, but I like it, call me crazy, but its a good look. The S13 coupe on the other hand, fugly.

the bottom line for s13 is that they are cheap, you can get them for 1,500 and for a kid that has to buy his own car thats about the buget plus, if you take a corner a little too sideways in a s13 the airbags wont blow and you dont have to spend a ton to get you body and shit fixed, you can beat the crap out of them and they can take it, so if you want a nice looking beater go for s13, want a showcar that can impress the ladys go s14, hey better yet take both;)

Well, because I own an S14, I can say it not only cost more but its rather expensive to upkeep (for my 97 anyway). I must say that it is very reliable though. I've never really had major repair done to the car. Parts are sometimes tricky to locate. But I agree with lucki if you can, get both.

yea one advantage of s13s is more support and easier to find stock parts off of other s13s, but this also a disadvantage b/c you see em everywhere and not rare and special like an s14 :)

I like em both, I actually like the styling of the S13 interior. Sure a couple of the materials suck, but whats a seat change and then put some new fabric down on the door panels to get rid of that tweed shit and it looks awesome. S14 doesn't flow enough inside and looks botchy. S14 chassis is more balanced, weighs more, and only has a coupe edition. I personally like the looks of both, can't really decide but the s13 hatch's do look nice with a lil work.

With the s14 your pretty much stuck with that same look, atleast with a s13 theres a lot of petty shit you can do to make it look diff, front lip, a wangan style(don't flame me for that one muhaahha) or the 180sx 1996 wing, also those tail lights or even some non pop up head lights, all that shit DRASTICALLY changes the looks of the car and it already has very nice lines.

One plus side with the s14 is the 5 lugs, which you have to admit honestly it does give u a better choice for brakes and wheels...some don't care, others like me are picky.

Id like to have a KA24det 1995 S14 SE for a daily driver and a S13 hatch with a SR20 and chassis mods for auto crossing and track use mainly.

i can build a cage for a S13 that will make a S14 look like a quivering pile of jello, unless u did the same to the s14 =)....

its all about cut off wheels, grinders, welders, and sweat.

I think the s14 interior is way nicer than the s13's... but it's subjective

yeah, the 14 interior looks so much nicer. the guages look better cause it doesnt look all retro and cheap (no, sorry it isnt "old skool"). plus its way more comfortable.

I own a 92 fb and I have to say that I would trade it for a 95. I like the way the S14 looks but I would only take a 95 bc of the ODBII shit. Besides that, I think the S14 has better support from aftermarket companies. I still love my S13 and would only trade it for a few cars. KA-T on the agenda right now. S14s have lower miles too. I figured I would see Logikal on here. Wasn't it you that said "Chics think the S14 is hotter!" or something? Somebody on here said that.

girls do like 14's better. its still not a showcar by anymeans though. when i first saw it, i kinda thought the zenkis were ugly. and i know so many other poeple that think zenkis are ugly. but hey, screw what other people think, i love my s14.

All S13, S14's are cool... if you want to drift, just pick the one you can afford, as far as looks? Spend 2G's and you have a S15 conversion and you're set, so stop squabling... try not to argue between family members... pick on a FF car!!!
