Could anybody tell me how to replace the third mounted brake light on a 2002 Nissan Sentra. I undid the light unit from the back deck where I can get to the bottom of the light unit, but can't figure how to get to the light. There's nothing in the owner's book to tell you how to get to it. Thanks

which light? the one in the spoiler? ....not sure how to replacce that

if it's in one of the tailights, just pop out all of those little plastic thingies (with your fingernails) so you can pull back the carpet, and the bulbs twist out. you don't need any tools.

No. It's the one inside of the car behind the back seats. I believe they call it the third mounted brake light. I got the unit off the deck lid and tried twisting the bulb unit that is underneath the whole unit but that didn't work. Tonight I'll try getting into the small unit that holds the bulb that is inside the main unit to see if I can get to the bulb from there. I'm sure it's something simple but doing it for the first time can be a pain. I just hate taking it to a dealer or gas station for a simple bulb replacement. Thanks for the reply!

I changed the bulb. Just needed a little elbow grease on the socket when I twisted it. My wife has the Sentra that the bulb burnt out on. Eight months after she bought hers I went out and bought one. I bought the one with I think they call it the Syenergy package. Don't know if I spelled it right but the package gave you alot of goodies for almost the same price for if you just bought the sports wheels & spoiler & the wheels & spoiler came with the package. Didn't want the RS model. You had to use Hi Test gas. Must say except for a couple recalls we are very happy with the Sentras. Good gas mileage & well equipped for the price. I used to own Chevys. Than I saw the light & went with Nissan. Don't think I would own another American car. See ya!
