Wheel offset question

I am looking at a set of Racing Hart CX 19" by 7.5 rims. I want to put an air ride system on my 2000 mitsubishi galant. I saw this system on a car with ADR X-Factor 19" by 8 rims and they looked like they just barely tucked. The offset I have found (for all) x-factor rims is 35 millimeter and I believe the ideal offset for my car is 43 millimeters. I was wondering if the 43 offset would give my more or less room in the wheel wells than the 35 offset? I believe both of these offsets are positive. Also, I believe that the CX 19" by 8 which come in a 51 millimeter offset and if these would give me more clearance than the 43 offset let me know. Thanks for any help guys.

The higher the offset number, the more it moves the wheel/tire toward the suspension and into the wheel well. The lower that number, the further out toward the fenders. You have to make sure that if you go with a higher offset wheel, they have test fit these wheels on your car model. It will limit brake clearance on the back of the wheel.
