re-installing stock stereo for now

I have re-installed my stock deck for now just waiting for the next paycheck to get a new one. I have put the deck back in and nothing happens to it. Doesn't matter if the car is on or just in the acc mode nothing. It is one of them ac delco stereos does anyone know if I need a code or some actual process of installing it. Any input would be great
