engine swap

I had a 98 Eagle Talon TSI AWD and i totaled, now i found and bought :grinno: a 95 eclipse gs-t with 125k on it and the engine is gone i still have the engine of the eagle and i want to make the swap, i guess that should be pretty easy like a plug and play. Plz let me know what i need to take out of my Talon to make the swap, I can use the ecu of the 95 or i have to put the one of the talon?

u should be able to use the ecu out of the eclipse but if u cant sell it to me I want an eprom!

There are going to be some differences between the two ECUs, so I would use the one that matches the motor, or mroe specifically the cam sensor setup. If you use the 98 cam sensors setup on the pass side of the head, try to use the 98 ECU. I think that will work. Otherwise you have to mess around with the sprkplug wire order. On the other hand, if the 95 is an EPROM, havign to swap the order of the wires is a small price to pay for the ability to go DSMlink someday ;) In that case use the 95.

ok, so the cables that goes in the ecu and eprom are diferent (the connectors) if i put the 98 eagle i need to use the 98 cables, cause i don't have them, i the accident they were cut. is like i said is a plug and play? thanks

a machanic of Pacific Performance take a look tho the car today and he said that the biggest problem he can see is an inyector the #2 is bad, so before i took out the engine i'm going to change the inyector and see what happend.

well i finished with the engine swap, I already have the 98 tsi awd engine in the 95 gst body, but it doesn't want to start. I kept the cam sensor of the 98 and the ECU from the 98, but it cranks and doesn't start. It's making me crazy, i want to start the car ASAP, it has been hell of a project, and what it worst a really long project.
If someone can help i will appreciate it.
