Turbo H23, or H22?

Hey. this si my first thread, so bear with me here. To risk sounding like a newb, (which I am) I have a question. I want to know if I'm better of putting a snail on a 2.3L H23, or just trying to turbo an H22A Vtech.

Everyone I know goes ape over the -22A, but (and this information is from personal experience, NOT what I've been told) my torque numbers on my -23 are higher than a -22A, and it seems to have a little more off-the-line punch than a Vtech. Case in point: When I drive my SI, the power comes on @ 3500 rpm, but when I took a friends Vtech, (similar year/model) I had to wait for it to come onto its cam @4500. I love the 'lude in any configuration, but I'm lookin to sell my current one and look for a new (for me, anyway) 92-96 Prelude. In my mind, it would seem that the higher torque/ diaplacement and lower compression of the -23 will juice my turbos faster, for a better spool up, rather than waiting for the Vtech to push some more oomph into it 1000 rpms later. I don't like the tach numbers on the -22A (8200!) but if I can get some educated advice, (Not from -22A, or -23 fanboys, please) I'd appreciate it a lot. I'm looking to build an SCCA league racer, and I don't want the hassle and drivability problems of an all-motor setup, or the trouble of a motor swap.

-Thanx in advance
