ok, here's the deal
i have a 94 civic dx that i did a swap on. i have never had the vtec work yet though, i keep getting a CEL or check engine light code 22. i put on a d16z6 head along with the ecu out of the ex i got the head from. i wired it all up according to the wiring diagrams i found on this site. i have hooked a light up to the vtec solenoid and it is getting 12v when the car is warmed up and i hit 5500 rpm. also i have taken it apart and verified that the screen on the solenoid is not plugged. it clicks like it is working when i hook it to 12v to test it. however when i manually hook it to 12 volts with the motor running, the motor shows no signs oe sounds of vtec engagement aside from the click of the solenoid. so i'm fairly sure the problem is not with the sol. i have enough oil in the engine too. i get the code 22 whenever i hit 5500 rpm and above and keep it there for around 3 seconds, then the cel kicks in and the vtec light goes out and of course is disabled. i have triplechecked all my wires and connections and everything looks great. i have a degree in electronics so it's not like i'm an amature when it comes to wiring and electronics.i have bought another vtec solenoid assembly with sensor and tried that with the same symptoms could anyone verify which position the oil pressure sensor needs to go into the ecu harness at? maybe i got some bad info on that. otherwise the car runs excellent, if i could get this dialed in i would be relieved. i have searched the posts for a long time and not seen this problem so any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.
