I have a 99' 323i, I was wondering before I really check in to this if it's gonna be a pain in the ass or a breeze. I've installed a few subs before but only on domestic cars, how hard will the wiring be? And is thier anything special that I will need or need to know?? - Thanks

Hi.
You BMW is no harder to install anything in than any other high end car, and easier than Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Jaguar. Tell me more details about the gear adn I may be able to offer some suggestions.
Good Luck!

I have a 1987 325e and it was easy to do, just took some time with the trim to hide the wires. In my car, there's the main battery cable that runs up to the engine compartment. That's where I used a coathanger to pull the RCA and remote wires from the front. No drilling or anything else was required. Actually, it was one of the easiest installs I've done!
Hope this helps!

Sorry if I replied incorrectly, but I wanted to mention you have to take the back seat (bottom) out. I did this by pulling up by the front corners of each side. Then it just slides out. To reinstall, just put it back where it was and press down on each corner. I found this out when I had to find what was wrong with my fuel pumps, a short at the junction between the two pumps. It was corroded. So that answered the last thread I submitted. Thanks to all that answered!

Well my battery is in the trunk, as opposed to under the back seat is some other models. So do I still have to take out the back seat? my friend is actrully doing this for me and wanted me to find out info before he attempts it becasue its an import and he only did work on domestics, so I personally dont know a whole lot about this subject. But anything would help so thanks.. But in reply to "Toddzoo" Im thinking that your thinking that the battery is under the seat but its not its in the trunk so does that change anything?? Thanks

heres the thing the battery isalmost always in the trunk. also the only things u have to avoid is running the rca's and the remote right next to any other wiring, mostly power, if you do its very very likely that u will get engine nosie. a crazy whine when you rev. so just run the signal cables on the opposing side to the power running to your engine.

Thats not always tru..in some cases it is..but if u have really good wires and the (+) batt. wire has a nice thick layer of rubber on it will wont make n e noises....i have a 1987 316i and i have 2 amps and two 12" woofers in my trunk..and my battery is in the front wit the engine so i have the battery (+) wire, remote and RCAz all running from the front to the back and their all togeather, and my car doesnt make N E nosies..and the install. was all done by me and it is not too too hard but yes it does take time and yes the back seats sould be taken out if u dont want wires all over the placing showing. Im only 17 years old..so if i can do it...i think N E 1 can..just got to have some type of experince with car audio
