makes the stroke of the piston longer...so it increases displacement and decreases the max engine speed.

A stroker kit decreases the max engine speed?

the absolute max the stock original can handle....think about...let's say the piston can go up and down a maximum of 8000 times a min. a distance of 3 inches. if u increase the distance to 4 inches, it isn't going to be able to go longer distance in the same amt of time.

so why would this be faster on a car? what would it improve, from the little i know it seems like throttle response would be down, but ive been wrong before

if u are going to be running at the same rpm, then u increases compression (more hp) and displacement (more torque). IT all depends on the specifics of how much u are going to be stroking, what the engine can handle, etc (which i don't know), but if u stroke a lot and u can't rev as high, there would be a trade off of hp for torque (and shitty gas mileage).

a stroker kit consists of pistons, rings, rods and crankshaft.

in the same way destroking an engine will lift the rev ceiling, just look at the crazy turbo 4wd dahlback racing golf
