Almost finished the b18a in my 89 dx but having a few wiring and vaccum issues. Turn the key to the on position and I can hear the fuel pump kick in and the vacuum lines start sucking but the yellow engine remains lit and it seems like there is an airleak on the fuel rail somewhere.... Any suggestions?

replace vaccum line with new ones. it doesnt cost that much to replace with silicone lines and youll always know its not your lines. or buy a vaccum line checker form autozone. that will also tell you.

Does the engine fire up at all? Is the ECU throwing any codes?

Doesn't fire up at all yet. So no codes....

I would wait till it's in a position to attempt to turn it over. then let us know if it doesn't start.

How can you hear the vacuum lines though? They shouldn't be active until the engine has actually been started and running, at which point your vacuum problem, if there is one, becomes obvious.
When you turn the key to the on position and don't start the car, the check engine light often comes on anyways to let you know the battery is being drained because the engine isn't running.
Do you have a helms manual? All the vacuum lines should hook up the same on the B18a as they do on the stock Si engine so just check your manual. If you don't have a manual.. get one!

the check engine light comes on to let you know your fuel pump is working....it should come on when you turn the key then go off in about 2 seconds

when i swapped mine it started right up without any vacuum lines hehe.. i capped most of them off anyway and it runs just fine.. just rough idle when it first starts but once it warms up she idles at around 400 RPM
mines a 90 B18 so it has a lot more crap on the intake mani tho..
only code my ecu throws is for a sensor in the dizzy.. doesn't effect how the car runs.. swapped dizzy and it still throws the code.. oh well :)
i'd say to make sure she has spark and double triple check the wiring, if it's wired right it will run.
