I am looking at a gti but, the owner says there is a high output engine from germany. Is there such a thing? If there is tell me the specs. Please respond quickly. Thanks.

It was one handed while on the phone give me a little break. You’re not my English teacher! Just any information about the performance of this engine, if there really is such a thing, would be great. Thanks.

uh, no...there are the 2.0 8v and the 2.0 16v...the intake manifold is the easiest way to check which one he's telling you about...but the 16v didnt come stock on ANY mk3 on this side of the world.
The 8v manifold has 4 runners close together...
The 16v manifold has 4 runners further apart, more seperate...
If he HAS a 2.0 16v, snatch it up...but then again, it could be a 1.8 16v...the quickest way to check that is the engine code...
but if its a 2.0 8v, and he's calling it a high output? Tell him to go back and drive his Jeep :eek7:

How do I check the code? Where and what do I look for? Also it is a Mk4 and he says it is from Germany. He thinks it has over 220 with exhaust, chip, and cold air. Would that be close to a 16v?

ahh, well, that settles it...he's full of it
no mk4 came with any h.o. 2.0...even in europe. its the stock 2.0 8v thats been used since 94 when the first mk3 came out, just with a different intake manifold...and NO 2.0, 16v or not will have 220 with chip, intake and exhaust...NOT ONE!
and one last thing...what does the rear plate recess look like? is it the standard US size? Or is it a more oblong european plate recess size??

I haven't seen the car yet I am going tomarrow. I just am wondering what to look for when I see the car. I guess the car could have an engine swap or he could be full of it. Tell me what to look for and where to look. I guess it will just come down to me driving the car. If I think it is pretty quick I will get it. I am only 17 I don't really need a car that will smoke everything. The car also has some body mods. I wouldn't mind getting it just for looks.
