radiator

im puttin in a new radiator on my 96 ta. anyone have any pointers, cuz ive never done it before and any help is appreciated.

I had a radiator dropped into my 79 bird in a shop and I helped the guys put it in. It was easy and a 'free' lesson. All you need to worry about is marking all of the things you take off and make sure they go back to the new radiator. Than just put in coolant and you are ready to go.

P.S. I am not sure if your thermostat is good or not, but if you have any doubts replace it as well, its only about 6 bucks to replace it with gasket and everything.

i took the car to a dealer cuz it was overheating and they said i needed a new water pump and radiator and they would do it for 1400. so naturally i just took my car and went home. after a closer inspection, there was a damn plastic bag on the radiator that i apparently ran over. i guess the dealer didnt feel it was necessary to inform me of it, or remove it. but i changed the hoses and without the bag there, it works fine.

i found a guy whos selling his radiator off his 95 ta, the only diff. is his is a 6 spd and mine is auto. how complicated is it to add a transmission cooler to his radiator so it will function on my car, or can i take the stock transmission cooler off my existing radiator and add it to the radiator im putting in?

You should have tranny cooler lines going into the auto radiatorits self -Its built in- The manual rad *MAY* have the cooler in it but the holes where the lines go may be plugged w/ a fitting. How much is a new one- used radiators can be quite iffy...

i got the used one and left taillight for 90. he said the car runs, its just damaged. if any1 needs parts, its on fbodyjunk.com and its the 95 ta 6 spd.
