Rx-7 or Rx8

So shich do you guys reckon is better a rx-7 or a rx8 !!!! i still like the sound the rotory of the rx8 the best !!! but performance wise, which is better ?

rx7 got better power delevery output, and has more potential for now
rx8 got better suspension design
rx7 looks better imo
rx8 got a 6 spd tranny
rx7 got more aftermarket stuff..

test drive both, and tell us about what ur gonna do with the car. do you have a hp goal or something ?

I love the FD like no other, but I cant stand the smack talk about the RX-8. Its NOT THAT BAD.

Honestly, on a stock comparison, its a hell of a car. It even got better lap times than the FD. It doesnt have the power potential of the 13B but its still very quick and a hell of a car stock.

The RX-7 should outperform the RX-8 in just about every category except reliability..... even the latest RX-7's are almost 10 years old now....

It depends on what you want, the rx-7 (fd is what i am assuming youre referring to) is a more performance oriented machine that the 8. The 8 is easier to live with (given is 4 doors and slightly softer edge than the 7).

You want straight road speed or more stability on curves?
RX-7 has better power, RX-8 has better weight distribution.

it has a 1.3L displacement, but has 2 combustion cycle per crankshaft rotation, it labeled as a 2.6 in imsa books so it could equaly compete with inferior designed piston engines :grinyes:

but anyway, the power is up the powerband
these are race engines modified to fit in a street trimed car, dont expect to have a very good driveability

IMO i don't like the RX8 , bacause of it's 4 doors . It a sports car it should it been like the 7.

the 8 wasnt intended to be the performance icon like the 7 was back in its day.

still don't dig the 4 doors! , but wouldn't mind have one tho!!

imo rx7 > rx8 but rx8 is more easy to live w. esp. when you have tons of friends w. revoked licence - sigh - lol and rx8 is low on power but iunno some ppl drop 13B into the 8 or so i heard never seen. i know for sure somebody droped a 20B into an rx8 before. the acosta rx8 - sick stuff there

Having said that I hope you've driven a 911. If you've driven an earlier one without traction control or any other assist you'd know that at speed, the 911 is a terrifying car to handle and is known for breaking loose mid corner with the slightest throttle lift-off (mostly due to it's poor weight distribution)
