Where's the stupid icon?
OK, I bought an E21 1982 323i on Friday, today dropped my girlfriend at the hospital and in the rush left the fog lights turned on. Got back to the car and the battery was too low on charge to kick the starter over. Grabbed some jumper leads and tried to jump start it from a Mazda 6 (stupid move). When I tried to kick the ignition over, got a very quick clacking sound for about 1 second (approx 10 - 12 'clacks') and then all power going through accessories, dash and ignition has died. Headlights and interior lights still work. Checked primary fuse box under hood, no fuses blown. Also no fuses over ignition or main power delivery.
Any suggestions as to what I've done? Is there a secondary fuse setup somewhere (perhaps in the dash) controlling ignition and mains, etc? Please tell me I haven't fried the ECU.

Check your battery cable connections carefully and clean all the [+] connectors if questionable. There is no 'fuselink' or any other 'protection' system you could have damaged. Most likely you had a poor set of 'jumper' cables or a poor connection.
